I Need a Car
I Need a Car is the eleventh of thirty-eight cinematics in The Last of Us. It was first shown at San Diego Comic Con in 2012.

Bill's bar. Concept by Eytan Zana.
Bill. Concept by Hyoung Taek Nam.
The cinematics throughout The Last of Us used motion capture pretty heavily, at least for the body work. The facial animations were still done by hand, but the footage from the capture studio served as a reference for that. The dialog for these scenes was recorded in the studio too, as the physicality of the acting influences the way that the actors say the lines. There are subtleties that come out in those moments that are hard to reproduce in a typical voice over recording booth. It gives it more realism.
